Here, children are exposed to and learn to apply a variety of

investigative and analytical skills

so they may independently solve information problems, make decisions, and

satisfy their curiosity.

Students use strategies

to locate information

and evaluate its content

(Is it reliable? Current? Relevant?),

to determine if and how it

contributes to their knowledge base.

They then use this information

to create new knowledge

and share their learning with others.

Ultimately, these media, information, and technology

literacy skills

will help them become independent, lifelong learners: productive citizens

who are equipped with

the critical thinking skills and mindset to succeed in

our ever-changing,

increasingly complex information and technology-based society.
